Penders to Middle Beach - last weekend

  Couldn't get through to Gillards as the lagoon behind overflowed following the rail.  Within a short time it went from being jumpable to impossible.

The BVBW 2020 walks program is suspended until further notice.

To keep us all safe, we've taken the difficult decision not to come together for walks for the moment. Let's hope everybody works hard and stops the spread - the sooner it's over, the sooner we can get back to walking! We'll let regular walkers know by email when the program resumes.

BVBW Inc Affiliation and Insurance Update

 Dear Bushwalkers Since the Department of Sport and Recreation disbanded the 'Walking for Pleasure' program, members of BVBW have been trying to find the best solution to get us all back walking again. To this end many members have done a lot of research, made many phone calls and we’ve had a few meetings. Following our two meetings at Wolumla Hall we’ve become an incorporated body, Bega Valley Bushwalkers Inc., and have elected a committee.  The committee has been in regular contact and has now decided to recommend to the group that we:   proceed with affiliation with Bushwalking NSW    take the Insurance offered through Bushwalking Australia. (This is a tailored package designed for groups like ours. Our options for gaining insurance independently appear limited and more costly) There are 3 components to the insurance offered: Associates, Public Liability and Personal Accident Insurances. 8 March - Trailblazing Cobargo Day event

Meet: 9:00 at Corner of Princes Highway and Upper Brogo Road, which runs west off  the highway just north of Quaama Grade: Moderate Distance: approx. 12 km Description: Exploring some scenic farming properties that are recovering after the Cobargo fires, hopefully skirting the edges of Wadbilliga National Park.  Beautiful scenery and an insight into the difficulties faced by the graziers in  this area.
